Family Fun at Sesame Place!

Summer is officially here, and we are not dreading the cold, at all. We do however had many awesome memories from all the fun we had last year to  look forward to this year. We did so much last summer, and we were able to do many things I once did as a child myself. Having children is a wonderful experience, and I believe what makes it so magical is that its basically like you are re living your very own childhood at the same time as building theirs. When I was my boys ages my parents always put a lot of effort into making our summers memorable, and taking us to places we would always be able to remember and share with others. Till this day I can go on and on about all the summer memories I have with my cousins, and family friends from camping to water rides, to rollercoasters. So many first times were made during these memories which made it even more of a life changing event I always remember.

I remember being six years old when we first headed out to go camping on a campground in Pennsylvania, and my parents had lined up a jam packed yet very exciting itinerary for our full week stay. Right dab in the middle of it we were going to go check out Sesame Place for the first time ever, and we all had no idea this first time would end up becoming a annual event for our family. I was not a big fan of Sesame Street around that time, but I did of course know all of the characters, especially since at the time my little brother was around 3 years old, and he absolutely loved all things Sesame Street. It was going to be a great time, and I was so happy to be able to enjoy it with not only my mom, dad, and brother, but also with my cousin and my childhood best friend. As soon as we got there we checked out the map and knew it was going to be a action packed day.

The memories I made through out my childhood at Sesame Place were amazing, and I have shared many of them with both of my boys now. When me and dad were talking about summer spots we would like to take them to it was no doubt that Sesame Place was on the top five, as dad himself had very fond memories from his childhood as well. They were amazed at the fact that this place still existed, because I am that old to them. I remember our first time there they asked me if I was their age at that exact spot they were standing in years before, and it hit me that the possibility of that is VERY possible. As a NY kid we are able to take a mini vacation from the crazy city life, and enjoy a place like Sesame Place that will always have us feeling like we are actually in a whole new world. It was time for me to make new memories with my children, and re live my childhood in their eyes!

There was so much they loved about Sesame Place, but I think the Lazy River was a huge huge hit for both of them. They cant agree on much these days but on this their was no doubts. They loved the fact that they could be in water and just relax, but then there were parts where they could get fully soaked under sprinklers of water. I remember this was one of my favorite parts as a child as well. We also loved how convenient it was to grab a kids meal for lunch in the very spacious Elmo's Eatery. The cute memorabilia plates and cups that come in the kids meal was great too, and we still use them at home till this day.

Elmos Cloud Chaser was a big hit as well. Caleb who was four years old, really loved it because it was the perfect ride for his age, a tad bit on the wild side, but not too wild where it would scare him. Jace who was seven years old braved the Vapor Trail, and I could tell how much he loved it because he could not stop saying how awesome it was, and made him feel. Lately he has been a huge rollercoaster fan! This was his first of many, and the perfect introductory ride for him. As a family we all rode the Blast OFF attraction ride, and we had such a fun time screaming together while blasting up real slow, and blasting down REAL fast! It was such a great time as we all four got to sit all together for this one.

It was the perfect summer for us and Sesame Place really made it a great family adventure for all of us, no matter what age. They both are already expecting to go this summer so this momma has gotta make it happen, again. I truly believe that Sesame Place will live on for a couple more years in our family because you really just cant grow old of it. I am a 32 year old women that has been going since I was 6 years old, and it still has the same magic as it did on my first visit. So here's to many more summers with our furry friends that give us bright sunny days!

- We were invited as guest for the day to visit in exchange for a review, but as always all opinions are 100% honest, and of our own!

Adventure awaits at Pips Island!

NYC is filled with so many amazing things to do with your children, and it boggles my mind that people can still come up with more ideas for families to enjoy. When I heard about Pips Island I just knew that it was something we had to try out! I was skeptical I must say, and I was so worried that it wouldn’t be as great as we expected it to be. But Thank you Pip & Friends because till this day both of my boys cannot stop talking about it. They told their teachers, their friends, and the grandparents ALL about their fun adventure on Pips Island - and let me tell you.. as they are explaining the fun, people swear up and down that we actually left NYC and went to a fun family getaway when in reality it was a show right in the middle of busy Time Square just blocks from our home. They keep reminding me that we just HAVE to go back and help Pip again rescue the island, and that’s on our summer bucket list!

Pips Island is an immersive theatrical adventure designed for kids ages 4 to 10 years old. I was worried that it would be too much for my five year old or too boring for my seven year old but they both enjoyed it at the same level, where they both were able to do all of it without it being too scary for them as well.  My little one gets a little shy here and there when he’s gotta do things alone but he was very excited when he had to get tasks done to help out. They made it very simple yet fun for all the children. Parents do not fully participate but are kept at arms reach so that children can still see them but can also be independent as they work with the other children. Every room is a different part of the journey and something new to learn. You have to find clues, and put things together to get to the very end. It was a bit like an escape room for kids kind of feel, but even better!

When I asked Caleb, my little one what his favorite part was he said THE MOLES! Which of course we couldn't leave without getting him a mole friend to cuddle with at home. Jace, my oldest said that his favorite part was solving all the clues in each room and learning about Pips Island. He really enjoyed it and asked of course to buy the book they sell all about the show, and extra details about Pips Island. He loved reading all about it, and then sharing it at show and tell at school. He made each child in that classroom want to take on an adventure at Pips Island too!

Its a must see show for all ages if you are in the NYC area. I can't believe how magical they made it into, and the best part of it all is your child walks out of that show feeling brave, happy, and proud of themselves. It really was a fun thing to watch as my children not only watched a show but were part of the show as well. Maybe next time we go we will see you there! :)

Balance is B.S Book Review

They want women to work as if they don't have children, and parent as if we don't work. I read this quote not that long ago, and it really sparked my thoughts in so many ways.  I have always worked during my time as being a mom. I did however spend a couple months during my maternity leave time with Caleb, and it was such a great feeling to just bond with my newborn. I loved every minute of it, but at the same time I knew I couldn't possibly do it for a couple years. When I received the book Balance is B.S - How to have a work.life.blend By Tamara Loehr I was very skeptical, because I have read tons of books that are for working moms because I have always struggled with it one way or another. Also lets face it, Balance is SERIOUSLY B.S because it took me a couple months to get it together and find the time to even read this book, as much as I loved it. While working a full time job, going back to school, being part of my sons school PTA, being a full time mom to two adventurous boys, and blogging/ working with different companies I don't have any balance at all, and I just find time for things when it is a good time for it. So this book really did speak to me, and it gave me the confidence I needed to just keep going, and find out ways to make things run just a tad bit smoother, and when it doesn't I know that I do not have to beat myself up about it, and just breathe.

Many companies and employers just don't understand and take into consideration that most women are care takers in one way or another and it is our hardest job. It speaks about that - but it also speaks about the pressures of what you believe others are thinking about you as a working mother - what your spouse may make you feel about it, because lets face it here in this day and age most working women are now the head of household bread winners, and that most definitely takes a shift in your marital duties/ issues, whether good or bad. I like how in the book it shares it all and kind of looks into all the areas of your life where being a working woman can make or break you sometimes, whether you are a mom or not - or a married or single woman as well so this is not just based off one specific woman. It also speaks for woman who are working for big corporations, or working for themselves as their own boss, because no matter where you earn your money it still has many ties and  barriers that you run into as a working woman trying to do it all.

Many books about working mothers just gives you facts, and tells you ways to balance your life out - knowing damn right that its just impossible. But this one helps you blend it out so you can do it all without dragging yourself down to deep end, while feeling good about you and your life. I loved that it was also very interactive in a sense that I could jot thoughts down, and it gave me things to ponder about during my read. I would highly recommened it to all my hard working slay mommas out there, because we all need to feel good doing what we do on a regular basis and this book is the best pick me up after a long day of work!

TheaterWorks Presents The Magic School Bus: Lost In The Solar System

If you know anything at all about me you know that my love for literature is HUGE. It always has been, so when I had my children I made sure they would understand my passion for it, and hopefully feel the same way about it as I did. I did it guys. They are SO into anything literature. They love to read, be read to, and watch movies of books they have read just to say that the book was better! So much like momma.

When we got an invite for The Magic School Bus: Lost In the Solar System by TheaterWorks at BMCC I knew it would be an epic morning they would really enjoy... because who doesn't love Ms. Frizzle and all of her wildness. We actually own this book and have read it plenty of times, to the point where they know exactly what is going to happen next. So we are thrilled to watch a live musical show of it.  I am sure it will leave us at the edge of our seats. It's like my childhood dreams are about to come true, and I will be flying on the magic school bus into Outer Space.

When the class gets lost on the way to the planetarium, Ms. Frizzle saves the day by blasting into outer space for an epic interplanetary field trip!  But when rivalries both old and new threaten to tear the students apart, our young heroes must learn to pull together or risk getting forever lost in the solar system.
Hop on the Magic School Bus for a ride in this new musical adaptation based on the original book series published by Scholastic.

Puss In Boots at The Swedish Cottage Marionette Theatre

We are huge fans of the shows that go on at The Swedish Cottage Marionette Theatre in Central Park. We went to one just this past summer, and the boys still talk about it till this day. They can't wait to make it to another one of their shows soon, and I believe this one is a must see. The boys love the classic fairytale that I have read them many times before, so they are excited to see how this one will be like!

Presented by City Parks Foundation, Puss in Boots will be making it’s first appearance at the cottage and bringing a fun twist to the classic children’s fairy tale!  Opening March 19th and running through September 22nd!

Puss in Boots is the story of two friends - Fergus Mundingle and his sly cat Puss - who are tired of their dull and penniless lifestyle. Looking for a change, Puss dons a snazzy pair of boots and sets off on a magical journey, proving himself a caring friend willing to help at any cost.

The show will captivate audience members of all ages beginning Tuesday, March 19th through September 22nd. A full list of show dates and tickets are available at CityParksFoundation.org

Get into the Spider-Verse NOW !

Spider-Man: Into The Spider Verse movie was one of my favorite movies thus far this year. I loved the soundtrack, the action, and the NYC vibe it gave off the whole time. I loved that it had me feel all kinds of feels too! One minute I was laughing, the next minute I was on the edge of my seat.

One of my favorite things about watching movies with the boys is looking at their reactions when certain things in the movie happen, and hearing them laugh so hard. Which is exactly what happened with this movie. There were many whoa moments, and so much laughter! I am so excited to say that it is now out on Blu Ray and DVD for you and your family to own and watch over and over again.

In celebration of the movie coming out on DVD our friends at Sony Pictures sent us a super fun shirt coloring activity where my boys had such a fun time creating their very own custom Miles Morales shirts. They made them and instantly wanted to wear them. They even decided it would be a good idea to wear them to school the next day. My big guy wears uniform, but that didn’t stop him and he wore it as his undershirt. They spent so much time looking at the figurine to get every last detail.

Lucky for you, we have a DVD, an extra shirt and fabric markers with your name on it. Plus some extra surprises! All you have to do is share or comment this post to have a shot!

A Better Option For a Child's Sweet Tooth With Goetze's Candy!

All my mommas must have had this sweet treat before when they were littles like their kiddos, because as soon as they reached out to me I remembered so many great memories of going to the candy store with my dad and getting so many yummy caramel creams to last more for days. I completely forgot all about them, and I am glad that I found them once again to share them with my little ones, without feeling the guilt of giving them so much sugar.

They are made with wholesome ingredients.. wheat flour and real cream. Caramel Creams are a twist-wrapped, chewy caramels with a cream center. Although the original vanilla is the most well-known flavor, Caramel Creams are also available in chocolate, strawberry, apple, and licorice flavors. Cow Tales were launched in the 1980's as a stick-shaped, chewy caramel filled with cream. Cow Tales are available in four flavors: "original" caramel, chocolate, strawberry, and caramel apple.

Aside from it just being a candy, they can be used as an ingredient to many yummy after dinner desserts. Here are some you can try out at home too!

Check out these facts below and see why they are the better choice:

Flying smart with Delta and Boiron USA!

Flying gives me real deal anxiety. Usually the night before a flight I get really anxious and barely get any sleep. I had some bad experiences when I was younger and I used to travel on my own, so I guess those experiences stick with me and I get reminded of them every time I am about to go on vacation. As a momma of two boys though I put on the brave face and just ride it out, and I am so good at making believe I am just fine. The things we have to do as parents. Make believe we are okay just so that they can keep it together, and feel good.

Just recently we went on a trip to Orlando, Florida and I knew it was time for me to try something so that I wouldn't have to fake it till we make it, literally.  I reached out to my good friends at BOIRON USA and asked them to suggest something for me to help with my jitters, and calm my mind. They recommended SEDALIA, Temporarily relieves nervousness, hypersensitivity, irritability and fatigue due to stress; This medicine does not affect alertness* But I also needed something to help me out with nausea, so they offered me their JET LAG RELEIF packet with three different kinds of medicines to help with all things that usually come with the feeling of jet lag. And they fully delivered!!!! I felt more at peace going on vacation when having products to back me up. I knew I could count on them to make the trip a whole lot smoother for me.

We flew DELTA from Laguardia to MCO. Let me just say - it was absolutely perfect. From the very beginning to the end. The entire DELTA staff was so friendly, and super helpful. As we were waiting to board a guy came to us to let us know that as a family with children we would be able to get on right away, and not have to wait to be called on to board. As we got on they noticed Caleb's mickey crown and asked if we were celebrating anything, and thats of course when we let them know we were going to Disney for little mans 5th birthday. They wished him a happy birthday and made a huge deal about it. When we were up in the sky we got to see all that DELTA has to offer for families with children on the planes. We loved that they had such a huge variety of movies, shows, and games for the kids to play with on the screens in front of their seats. Jace got to watch The Incredibles 2 movie, and Caleb watched some Ben 10! It was literally a life saver, because the shows and movies I thought I had downloaded on to our Netflix for some reason did not really download. I was also able to sit and relax and watch a movie since they were so busy doing their own thing. No headphones? No problem, because DELTA had many to give to their passengers, at no extra charge.  The boys also really loved how they had the Flight Tracker where they were able to see exactly where we were, and how much longer we had. It was fun to keep track of, and see all the places that we were flying by. The flight attendants came over to us every so often to check on us, and see if we needed anything. Also just to talk to the boys, as they are both super friendly so they are always talking someones ear off, and these people loved it. We got extra snacks and all that good stuff! When there was just about 10 minutes left into our flight landing one of the flight attendants had came over with some wings pins for the boys to wear, and asked if I could give them Caleb's name for a very special birthday shout out during our landing. I thought it was very nice that they were going above and beyond for us! He had no idea that it was coming, and when we landed and he heard the flight attendant wish him a very happy birthday he was the happiest little boy on that plane. DELTA exceeded my expectations, and I truly believe that no other airline can come close to the great customer service we received with them. They made my boys happy, and as a mom who has flown many other airline companies before I believe that DELTA is by far the best FAMILY airline, and caters to children of all ages. I will make sure all of our vacations can be made easier and pleasant with DELTA.

As for the homeopathic products that I used I have to say they worked, I mean really worked. I had NO jitters, NO motion sickness, and when I got off the plane for the rest of the days activities - NO jet lag what so ever. I was very happy to see that something so natural worked wonders for me. I know my body and how it normally reacts to travel, and so when I saw this big change I was very happy to know that I now can count on it each time as my travel necessities. Huge THANK YOU to BOIRON USA for making this trip smoother for me, and not only did my boys get to have a relaxing flight, but this momma did too!

Flying smart means being prepared so I am happy I was able to do it with the help of BOIRON USA, and the great service of DELTA AIRLINES!

Our Stay at the Hilton Buena Vista Palace in Orlando!

We just came back  from a unforgettable family trip to Orlando, Florida. We decided that we wanted to do something different and special to celebrate Caleb turning the big five, so we knew Orlando was the best choice to make these memories. I have so much family in Florida, that we did not necessarily had to stay at a hotel, but my boys both really love all that comes with staying at one, plus we knew we wanted to go to many of the parks in Orlando like Universal, and Magic Kingdom so we did not want to worry about traveling to them, and taking our chance on relying on family for rides all over. We wanted to stay at a great hotel which would make our trip as easy as possible. The Hilton Buena Vista Palace which is a official Walt Disney World hotel, was more than what we could ever have imagined. It really blew our minds! Let me share all the amazing reasons why you should choose them as your hotel choice for your next Orlando visit!

1. They have a Pool and Float Lagoon. Yup, a super cool lazy pool where you can grab a floaty and just relax around the pool It is heated too, so it feels amazing no matter what kind of weather you choose to go in. We were there in February when in the mornings it was still a bit breezy, but that did not stop us from fully enjoying some pool time, thankfully. Not only was that amazing but the food and drinks that you can enjoy in one of the comfy cabanas. We got to enjoy some yummy pizza for the boys, and mom and dad got to enjoy the most delicious pulled chicken nachos, plus some refreshing pina coladas from SHADES. It was everything we needed to feel like we were on vacation.

2. Complimentary transportation to all four Walt Disney World Theme Parks. Thats a huge plus if you are not planning to spend extra on a car rental. They were fast, clean, consistent, and so easy to get to!

3. Buffet Breakfast at Letterpress was a great reason to wake up early and start our day on the right track. Breakfast was ready every day at 7am and available till 11am! They had such an amazing spread that it was the hardest decision ever to choose what it will be for the day. The boys loved the donut wall, while momma really enjoyed the complimentary coffee every morning.

4. My little gamers were very happy to find out that there was a Game Room.Air hockey is life for these boys, so when we saw the table we knew we would be spending at least one day just enjoying all that the hotel had to offer, along with the game room. We spent a good couple hours just going at it, and they did not want to leave. It was quite impossible to convince them.

5. Beautiful Suite life that shows an amazing view of Disney Springs on a furnished private balcony. We loved being able to stay at one of their suites where there was so much space for us to relax and wind down after a long day out at the parks. The extra half bathroom was great too for a family of four. We were able to enjoy some down time in the living room area watching DVD rentals, while eating snacks, and then once we would decide to end the night we got to lay on their huge and fluffy queen size beds.  It was comfortable, stylish, and spacious. Everything you need while on vacation!

Thank you Hilton Buena Vista Palace for having us. This trip would have not been as amazing as it was without you guys! We loved staying here, and plan on returning again soon! I highly suggest all my friends and family to stay here during their Orlando trip.

LEGOLAND is where everything is AWESOME!

It's crazy I just noticed that I did not blog at all in the month of February. I apologize for not being around as often as I usually am, but things have been very off lately. So many things going on at once so my head has been a mess, and just trying to juggle it all and stay alive, basically. In February we also to an AMAZING trip to Orlando Florida, which we are all still dreaming about and missing so much! Not just the weather, but the food we had, the family time we shared, and the magical memories we created. It was just perfect in all ways possible, and I am so glad we were able to enjoy ourselves. Now we are being hit with the harsh realities of school, work, and cold weather so it has been a tough transition for sure for us all. So my apologies, and I will try my very best to get back into my four to five posts a month.

In this blog I wanted to share all the fun we had in Florida, starting with LEGOLAND. Can you believe that this was number ONE on the boys list for Orlando. They couldn't care less if we weren't doing anything else as long as we got to go to LEGOLAND. We had told them we were not sure if we would be able to go, and they were really sad thinking that we just wouldn't make it but we had a special surprise for them right off the airplane.

On our first day there, we checked into our hotel, and changed into warmer weather clothing and made our way to LEGOLAND. They had no clue and thought we were just going to some boring restaurant to eat lunch. When they saw that infamous sign they were SO excited, and they knew it was going to be a great first day of our vacation.

We got in and started from the very beginning of the theme park. We did the GRAND CAROUSEL to start off slow, and then found the Safari Trek which Caleb really loved. We walked all around MINILAND where we spotted NYC, and the boys were able to notice many NYC locations that we get to see all the time. We mostly had lots of fun at the Ford Driving School Station where the boys both went to their age appropriate sections and got to learn how to drive in the LEGO cars. They both had so much fun doing it, and I loved how easy it was where they felt super confident and did not have to feel worried about doing it all on their own. They both received their LEGOLAND Drivers License at the end too!

We also did a really fun family game called the RESCUE ACADEMY where we all had to work together to take out a fire. It was really fun because we all gave each other special jobs that we were assigned to, and we were racing against other families on the side of us. We worked fast, and got the fire out together and made it to the finish line in first place. Caleb wanted to go around DUPLO VALLEY and build at lego stations they had to rest a little, but Jace is always up for some adventure and him and dad decided that they would give THE GREAT LEGO RACE a try. It looked like a good time too, plus you were able to wear VR goggles through out the entire ride. He has honestly really been enjoying roller coaster rides lately, so it made him happy to know that they had something more on the wild side for kids his age.

We got to enjoy a couple of other rides, but unfortunately with two hours only we did not get to everything but I told them that just gives us another reason to return next time we come back to Orlando. We will hopefully be returning again soon during even nicer weather so we can go check out their Water Park side! They will also be opening on MARCH 27th a new exhibit THE LEGO MOVIE WORLD!!! Yes, now EVERYTHING will be even awesomer at LEGOLAND! We are really looking forward to seeing that next time around too. I am happy that we got to enjoy it though, but I now know that two hours is not enough time to get around the entire park.  But none the less it was perfect. We barely had to wait on line for no more than 10 minutes, and the park itself was not crowded with too many people either. All the workers were so friendly, and very helpful as well.

We ended our trip at LEGOLAND at the BIG SHOP where the boys found some cool LEGO MOVIE blind bags, plus some small sets that they were very excited to take over to the hotel and start building. We already CANNOT wait until we go back and possibly this time try their infamous PEPPER AND RONI PIZZA SHOP and GRANNY'S APPLE FRIES!

- Thank you LEGOLAND for the complimentary family day tickets. All of my opinions are 100% my own, and I was not paid to write this review.

The LEGO Movie 2 : The Second Part! #AwesomeWeek

If you have a little one there is no doubt about it that they are full on lego fans. I really never met a child who isn't. My youngest is currently upset that we are going to Disney instead of Lego Land for his birthday. The obsession is so real in this house! If there aren't legos all over the floors, then they are playing a LEGO video game on the XBOX.

When The LEGO Movie came out it was the only thing we were allowed to watch, ever. I believe we went about three times to see in theatres, and it was a no brainer that the movie was going to be played over a million times. I didn't mind just one bit because I absolutely LOVED Emmet. Now the second part is coming to theatres and we are no doubt going to see it about five times until we can get our hands on that DVD.

THE LEGO MOVIE 2: THE SECOND PART is coming to theaters on February 8th and everything is AWESOME!

To celebrate the opening of the film, Warner Bros. is creating a fun interactive experience for fans of the film to enjoy.  This activation will feature a large scale recreation of a "Mini Room" featured in THE LEGO MOVIE 2: THE SECOND PART in which visitors can sit next to our favorite Lego hero Emmet and take photos that are truly Instagram worthy.

This "Mini Room" will be coming to New York on February 9th and 10th at The Oculus.  The "Mini Room" will be located on the ground floor in The Oculus on those dates.

We are so excited to go to take a photo with our friend Emmet, and I am sure your little one will be too!!

Here are some great interactive games available for the film that your kids and followers might enjoy:
